RYECO offers a system which solves the problems associated with inefficient and messy paper edge markers
RYECO offers a system which solves the problems associated with inefficient and messy paper edge markers. The 3160 Edge Marking System precisely marks the edge of the web with up to six colors. The marker can be activated by any defect inspection system, scanner or manually via the operator interface panel. Precise identification of all defective and off-spec product improves both runability and quality.

EMM-2000 Edge Marking Module: The EMM-2000 marks the top and/or bottom surfaces of one edge with any one of six colors. The six colors are derived from only three dye tanks thus eliminating unnecessary hardware. The system uses two spray nozzles to ensure a mark even if one becomes plugged. The automatic water purge system cleans the marker internally to minimize nozzle clogging. All waste water and over spray dye is collected and siphoned through a static vacuum pump to the sewer. During web breaks, the marker and vacuum pump are automatically purged with water for two minutes. The premixed dye is replenished in remotely located storage tanks. All RYECO dyes are certified by the FDA for use in food products.

ETM-1000 Edge Tracking Module: The ETM-1000 maintains the position of the other modules on the edge of the moving web. The point of inspection is adjustable within 3/16" of the edge. The system automatically retracts upon occurrence of a web break. The ETM-1000 Edge Tracking ModuleƖ consists of an intra-red edge sensor and a sealed electrical linear actuator. A local control panel allows for manual or automatic edge tracking.

EBM-100 Edge Base Module: The EBM-100 contains the support hardware and software for the system. It includes a mini-computer with a 24 button operator interface panel. Ample digital I/O allows for interfacing to existing process control equipment. Programs are maintained in EEPROM and battery back-up RAM. Software changes, available free for the first year, are easily accomplished by swapping EEPROM modules. A 24 volt DC power supply provides all control voltages for the system.

The RYECO 3160 Edge Marking System offers a combination of features and benefits that no other system provides.

RYECO's Edge Marking Systems include features which reduce maintenance and improve reliability over other marking systems. The system is completely modular and has all quick-disconnect electrical and tubing connections. There are no exposed tubing or cables over the web to be damaged or pulled loose.

The RYECO 3160 Edge Marking System™ software features make operating the system simple and easy.

The keypad and 16 character alphanumeric display allow for easy access to system parameters such as mark length and fade length. An approaching defect indicator is provided, via color fade, for ease of locating during unwind. A mark is automatically created at reel change to indicate that the marker is on line and functioning.
