Boston, MA /PRNewswire/ - RISI, the leading information provider for the global forest products industry, is excited to have Asia Pulp & Paper Group (APP) and Rainforest Alliance come together to discuss APP's Progress on Zero Deforestation.

Two years ago, APP announced its Forest Conservation Policy (FCP) with a goal to reach zero deforestation. As part of that initiative, APP asked Rainforest Alliance to conduct a third-party evaluation of its progress towards meeting the FCP commitments. Included in the APP FCP are commitments for:

  • protecting natural forests
  • improved peatland management
  • social and community engagement
  • ceasing to cut and mill mixed tropical hardwoods

assuring its fiber suppliers around the world also support responsible forest management

Aida Greenbury from APP and Richard Z. Donovan from Rainforest Alliance will represent their companies as panelists during the presentation on Zero Deforestation.

Register today for the RISI Asia Conference and join in the discussion on the impact of consumer demand for sustainable paper products. You can also learn about how to work with nongovernmental organizations and how APP has changed the public's opinion of their company.
