SOLVAir Select 200 e ectively cleans ue gas by reacting with acid gases. Due to its e ectiveness in removing SO3 which competes with Hg for adsorption sites, as well as its high surface area after thermal decomposition, SOLVAir Select 200 has demonstrated good Hg removal e ciency. Its other major bene t includes enhancing the performance of the Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP). This application guide shows how it is used in dry sorbent injection systems, and how to estimate the quantities needed to achieve the desired results.

When used as a dry sorbent injected into a baghouse or exhaust duct, SOLVAir Select 200 quickly reacts with acid gases, forming a waste product that will not damage equipment. It removes SO2, SO3, HCl and HF at higher rates than lime. SOLVAir Select 200 aids in the removal of Hg. Various eld tests have demonstrated removal rates of SO2 up to 90%. HCl and SO3 removal rates have been shown to be over 90%. In addition, it has been shown that it is able to remove 20 - 70% Hg by itself, and over 90% in combination with activated carbon. NOX removal averages between 10 - 20% when using trona for SO2 control. Industries using SOLVAir Select 200 for ue gas emissions abatement include coal- red electric utilities, aluminum and other metal processors, waste incinerators, petroleum re ning and cement manufacturing.
