Soda ash has long been used in wet scrubbing applications as a low cost alternative to caustic soda. Soda ash solution rapidly reacts with acid gases in a wet scrubber to allow compliance with many regulations. By adding more soda ash, and thereby adjusting the pH of the solution, scrubbing efficiency can be fine tuned to the desired levels.
