Waukesha ECP Pump
Applications and Advantages:
Ideal for Hot Cooked Starch – one of the few pumps that can stand up to the challenge of pumping hot cooked starch. A reliable, maintenance free alternative to progressing cavity pumps.
Low Shear - the Waukesha ECP pump is ideal for handling sensitive materials such as starch slurries, madedown polymer, cooked starch, kaolin, fillers and coatings.
Smooth, Pulsation-less Flow – the unique arc-shaped rotor wing creates a long sealing path, resulting in reduced slip and smooth flow characteristics. Shaft timing issues are less critical than lobe pump designs.
Rugged Construction – all units are constructed of 316 stainless steel with special non-galling alloy steel rotors to ensure long service life. With water flushed seals, the pump can be run dry indefinitely; an operation that would tear apart progressing cavity pumps. The unique rotor design allows the pump to be started while filled with settled starch slurry without doing damage to the pump. The pumps are available with either NPT or ANSI flange connections.
Ease of Maintenance – servicing the Waukesha ECP pump is a snap. The rotors can be inspected by removal of the faceplate: inspection of the seals requires the simple removal of the rotors themselves. The Waukesha has a smaller footprint and typically requires less horsepower than a progressing cavity pump. Simple maintenance, rugged design and construction are the reasons that some of the Waukesha pumps have been in operation for over 50 years.
The pumps are available from 7 to 450GPM, discharge pressures to 300 PSI and operating temperatures from -40°F to 300°F.
