Weller UHX-1900 has been specifically engineered for heavy industrial piping. Weller UHX-1900 High Molecular Weight Cross-linked Polyethylene has physical characteristics that make this material ideal for the extremely demanding applications.
Most significant are its light weight (1/8 the weight of steel), zero absorption to water, sound reduction, high dielectric strength and great abrasion resistance.
This polymer has a unique combination of low coefficient of friction for improved flow, superior abrasion resistance, high corrosion resistance and shock strength resistance coupled with fatigue resistance which delivers a versatility not found in any other polymer in today's market.
All UHX-1900 Pipes incorporate an ultra-violet deterrent to resist sunlight. The polymer is highly resistant to a wide variety of chemicals. Weller UHX-1900 also reduced thermal expansion and improved wear resistance over non-cross-linked high density products. Weller UHX-1900 exhibits outstanding resistance to environmental stress-cracking as a result of its high molecular weight and cross-linked structure. Thus, it will perform under conditions that cause brittle fractures in lower molecular weight polyethylenes.

Mechanical Joining

Mechanical joining to other piping materials - fittings, valves, tanks, pumps, etc. - may be accomplished with Weller flange adapters or stub ends and metal back-up flanges. Flanges are also used to connect lengths of UHX Pipe together.
Both of these parts can be butt fused to WellerPipe UHX-1900. When calculating both length, please remember the flange face thickness of the fabricated flange adapter and the molded stub end are different.
