AirPol was established in 1968 and has been exclusively engaged in air pollution control ever since.

Over the years AirPol has earned an excellent reputation for high quality equipment and systems, dedicated service, and a uniquely qualified staff. Always being an innovator of new ideas in the air pollution field, AirPol has developed many hardware improvements as well as having established basic principals for calculation of removal and absorption efficiencies, which has put the Company far ahead of the competition.

From the original prototype AirPol developed the modern Venturi, that is now used all over the world for high efficiency removal of sub-micron particulates. During the more than 30 years the Company has been in business AirPol has designed and built over 1,400 air pollution control systems for every imaginable application. AirPol has more experience in wet scrubbing than any other company in the world.

This broad base of experience has provided the challenge to keep AirPol in a contiguous position of leadership in air pollution control technology. These are some of the major achievements:

• Over 1,400 wet scrubber installations, including 300 Flue Gas Desulfurization (SO2) units, handling up to 540,000 ACFM of flue gas in one Absorber vessel.
• Holder of the patent for the AirPol Dilute Dual Alkali process.
• Holder of the license from the Pulp & Paper Research Institute of Canada (PPRIC) for TRS control system for recovery boiler emissions.
• Holder of the rights for use of Dravo Lime Company thiosorbic absorption process.
• Supplier of over 300 acid gas scrubbing systems utilizing the following reagents: Caustic, Dual Alkali, Soda Ash, Magnesium, Lime, Thiosorbic Lime.
