BevelFusion is a new process designed for fabricating the fittings used with large diameter HDPE pipe. It uses proprietary thermal fusion technology to produce stronger, reducing-tee fittings for pipes 14 in. to 63 in. in diameter.

This new process allows to "scale up" the fusion process, enabling to fuse large branch pipes to large main pipes at virtually any angle. Since the pipe sections are thermally fused at high temperature, they become a single unit that has more structural integrity and closer tolerances than a typical fitting.

The fittings are well fit for field performance as they're strong enough to be installed faster and to withstand rougher handling. The angle precision eliminates a lot of misalignment problems. Since there are no extra parts, the fittings are lighter, more compact, and more professional in appearance.

BevelFusion is a three-step fabricating process. First, the branch pipe section is cut and beveled to produce the specified angle. Second, the main pipe section is cut and beveled to produce a perfect match. Finally, the company fuses the two beveled pipes using an innovation it refers to as the Variable Degree Wedge Heating process. Sheldon maintains the resulting fittings are a better value, since the BevelFusion process is more efficient, allowing the company to make better fittings for about the same price.
