The Wafer-Sphere high-performance butterfly valves provide long-lasting, tight shutoff, excellent flow characteristics and a long service life.
The Wafer-Sphere high-performance butterfly valves provide long-lasting, tight shutoff, excellent flow characteristics and a long service life. It combines the uniqueness of bubble-tight, all polymeric seating without springs, back up seals or other sealing enhancements with the design advantages of high-performance butterfly valves, such as light weight, low maintenance, low cost of ownership and ease of actuation.

The valve's eccentric design eliminates wear point for longer life. Cycle life is so much longer than a tradition butterfly valve that these valves are cost-effective even for applications without high-performance demands.

They has a full TFE seal that prevents thermal distortion and provides tighter, longer-lasting shut-off. The extremely tight shut-off is achieved when the unique polymeric, flexible-lip seat flexes against the outer edge of the wafer disc to create a bubble-tight seal.

These valves are easy to maintain. The insert can be removed for easy access to the seat and there is no need to remove pins, shafts or discs. The insert and seat are self-aligning, and the lip seal compensates for temperature and pressure changes.

Self-lubricating, stainless or fiberglass-backed TFE shaft bearings provide high cycle life. Live loading is an option for the TFE or Graphite Chevron packing. Available in a wide range of materials for specific chemical media, typical valve applications are found in air separation, HVAC, pulp and paper, the grain industry and- with the 600 lb. fully rated valve- the oil and gas transmission business.

ANSI 150, 300 and 600 lb. pressure classes off dramatic advantages over conventional butterfly and gate valves for handling and extremely wide range of media including media, slurries, petroleum products, acids and caustics, air, water and steam. All are available to meet NACE MR01-75 and are available in standard or fire-tested Fire-Tite designs. A series of cryogenic designs offer the same features for services to –320°F.
