This patented design has been developed over many years to discharge bulk solids that would give problems and not flow in conventional conical bottomed silos. The Saxlund hydraulically operated sliding frame is designed to create mass flow with these difficult materials in a flat bottomed silo. Saxlund's early experience was gained in the wood based industries - paper mills, chip board and MDF plants, as well as sawmills handling wood chips, bark, sawdust and similar materials. With increasing environmental awareness, handling problems with sludges are now a major application of Saxlund technology. Silos are available in a wide range of sizes and arrangements for different applications, Sliding frame equipment can also be retro fitted to existing silos.
