APPLICATION:
BASTECH 73P is added neat to the whistle-type liquor shower on the first
stage of the brown stock washers, sprayed by air or added to the inlet
stock of the first stage washer. It is essential that BASTECH 73P is
dispersed for optimum results. It is sometimes added to the first stage
repulper. Rate of addition is usally between 0.1 and 0.4 lb/ton. BASTECH
73P has a strong carry-over and usually results in a substantial reduction
in the screen room and machine room defoamer. Soda losses at the brown
stock washers have been reduced by 50% to 70%. BASTECH 73P has performed
equally as well on hardwood and pine and foreign softwoods.
STORAGE AND HANDLING:
BASTECH 73P can be stored inside or outside as it has a wide temperature
stability range. Exposure to temperatures above 130 F should be avoided.
This dispersion has demonstrated little or no separation over a period of
120 days. When stored in bulk, provisions should be made to seal recircu-
lating lines in the product itself to prevent entrainment of air when
agitated or recirculated.
