Blue Powder
APPLICATION
Removable Heads: Suspend inker head in 300 to 400 gallon soak tank of pre-mixed Blue Power solution. Air agitation, circulation pressure pump or hydraulically operated agitation systems are very successful for automatic cleaning. Depending upon density of ink coating, 20 to 30 hours of continuous cleaning will give excellent results.
Non-Removable Heads: Sprayers, brushes, and rags will obtain good results by manual application.
Approximately six to seven inker heads have been cleaned in a 400-gallon air-agitated batch of solution before disposing of used solution by local sewer. Solution classified as non-hazardous waste material.
NOTE: BLANKET AND ROLLER CLEANING during production time should be conducted as follows: Blue Power concentrate should be diluted to at least 1 part concentrate to 25 parts water or higher. This will reduce prolonged scuff and abrasion on the finished cans, and will eliminate product residue built up on blankets that could interfere with compatibility of the ink and spray cost of lacquer. If concentrates higher than 1 to 25 are used for cleaning blankets, then a dampened cloth with plain water should be used to wipe the blanket free of cleaner residue.
This process can eliminate the use of the dangerous isopropyl alcohol and tri-chiors.
