Carbon Filters
Activated carbon filters remove free chlorine, partially dissolved gases, low molecular weight organics, and certain non-polar high molecular weight organics from raw water supplies. When used as pretreatment for reverse osmosis and deionization, activated carbon filtration helps prevent fouling of both reverse osmosis membranes and ion-exchange beds, regardless of temperature, pH, and organic mixture.
Other uses of activated carbon include the elimination of undesirable taste, color, and odor from potable water supplies and the removal of trace organics and proprietary cleaning solutions from reclaimed water. Osmonics use of the proper quality and mesh grade of carbon assures maximum performance on each particular application.
