Orien's CyberCOOK-C continuous digester optimization system, part of its CyberPULP pulp mill program, is a control, optimization, and reporting system for a mill's digester house. The multiple process improvements provided by CyberCOOK-C all have one common objective—a substantial return on investment. This ROI is attained primarily through reduced total digester operating costs as a result of reductions in chemical and/or energy consumption while increasing production and reducing variations in pulp quality.
The system includes displays and reports for normal operation as well as historical data for process investigation and improvement. It utilizes standard open system components wherever possible to minimize additional maintenance and engineering training. The system can control hydraulic or steam phase digesters, with or without impregnation vessels or modified cooking. Process measurements, mathematical models, and lab analyses are employed to control the digester such that the following benefits are realized:
