J.J. Plank Corporation / Spencer Johnston Companyes are available ranging from 7" to 96" in diameter. Depending on that diameter, as well as the length, trusswork on dandies may include as many as five or more structural elements.
The trusses are constructed of stainless steel and are specially formed to maintain rigidity by absorbing torque and other mechanical forces. They are reinforced with longitudinal rods and up to two sets of cross wires. For added strength, the company attaches an outer layer of rectangular bars, and winds the entire system with a winding wire.
Dandy assembly results in a dandy roll which will operate within .004" of true round. The backing wire is applied after assembly. It not only eliminates shadow marks, but also disperses the shower spray for optimal cleaning action.
