Filter Breathers & Suction Strainers

A line of filter breathers and suction strainers for the filtration of contaminants from hydraulic, engine and transmission fluid reservoirs is now available from Purolator Products.

Acting as ventilators, Purolator's full line of hydraulic reservoir breathers and filler breathers are designed to filter airborne particulate and provide a clean flow of air entering the hydraulic reservoir. The line includes reservoir filler breathers (BR and BRF series), metal filter breathers (BM series), plastic filter breathers (BP series) and breather adapters (BA series). The BR series provides 10 micron nominal filtration; the BRF, BM and BP series offer 10 or 40 micron filtration.

The BR series, constructed of a die-cast aluminum cap and mounting flange, is engineered for mobile applications, where corrosion resistance and rough service are expected. The BRF series, constructed with a chrome plated steel cap and flange, is specified for non-mobile applications.
The BM series metal breathers are manufactured with a zinc-plated steel cap, die-cast aluminum body, plastic filter element and a range of NPT connections from 1/8" to 3/4". The BP series plastic breathers are constructed from impact and corrosion-resistant DuPont Delrin, plastic filter element, and a range of NPT connections from 1/4" to 3/4". Designed to transform spin-on filters into filter breathers, the BA series adapters are plated steel pipe nipple adapters available with 1/2", 3/4" and 1-1/4" NPT threads.

Purolator suction strainers are designed for coarse filtration on the suction inlet to protect hydraulic pumps from large size contaminants that could cause a catastrophic pump failure.
