Iggesund Paperboard Streamlines Operations With IFS Applications

IFS announced today that Sweden-based Iggesund Paperboard AB will implement IFS Applications at its paper mill, Iggesund Bruk, to streamline work processes. The order, which is valued $1.7 million, includes implementation services and IFS applications for maintenance, manufacturing, purchasing, inventory management, financials, document management, and project management.

Iggesund has initiated a project to develop new work processes that will streamline financials, purchasing, maintenance, manufacturing, and inventory management. The IFS solution will help the company develop and introduce work processes to improve competitiveness and profitability using new IT technology.

"Our goal is to continuously increase efficiency," said Staffan Jonsson, site manager at Iggesund Bruk. "Modern, flexible IT solutions are an important tool for improving operations. IFS Applications offers the functionality we require, and IFS has the experience and competence that are needed to implement the project."

Service and maintenance systems for heavy process industries such as pulp and paper are part of IFS' industry focus. Customers include many of the largest corporations in the industry: Stora Enso, Holmen Paper, SCA, and Billerud in Sweden; Krapkowice Paper in Poland; Visy Paper in Australia; and Norske Skog in Norway. According to industry analysts, IFS is the global market leader for service and maintenance systems, with a 13 percent share of the market.
