Kadant Black Clawson Receives Filter Order From Hinton Pulp

Mason, OH — Kadant Black Clawson Inc., a subsidiary of Kadant Inc., has received an order for a lime mud filter from Hinton Pulp, a division of West Fraser Mills Ltd. located in Hinton, Alberta, Canada. The filter – over 13 feet in diameter and 28 feet long – is one of largest sold in North America by Kadant Black Clawson. It will employ Kadant Black Clawson's state-of-the-art Precoat Renewal System (PRS), which significantly reduces downtime for filter cleaning. The filter will also feature self-cleaning nozzles for the cake wash showers to further improve performance. The PRS, spray bars, and nozzles are manufactured by another Kadant Inc. subsidiary, Kadant AES. The new lime mud filter is expected to start up in May 2006.
