Kermel is the European leader in the field of aramid fibers used in heat- and flame-resistant protective clothing. On the strength of close to 50 years' experience on the aramid fiber market, Kermel is constantly seeking innovation and has now launched Kermel INSULRIGHT paper. Kermel INSULRIGHT is a thermal and electrical insulating paper based on aramid fibers and resulting from paper-related technology. It is intended for the thermal and electrical insulation market, especially in high-temperature environments – up to about 180°C.

The advent of Kermel INSULRIGHT represents a major event in the high-temperature insulating paper market where innovation is unusual on account of the high level of technicality and performance required there. In addition, it provides an alternative to the monopolistic offer currently existing in the aramid paper market.

Kermel INSULRIGHT paper may be used in different shapes:

  • Singly – calendered or non-calendered
  • As a laminate

As a laminate, it comes in a triple layer including a polyester or polyimide film to provide various combinations:

  • Kermel INSULRIGHT/Polyester/Kermel INSULRIGHT
  • Kermel INSULRIGHT/Polyimide/Kermel INSULRIGHT

The range of Kermel INSULRIGHT paper is available in:

  • A variety of thicknesses: 50, 80, 130 microns and over
  • A variety of formats: rolls (about 1,0000 millimeters width), ribbons, etc.

Kermel INSULRIGHT has good mechanical and electrical properties (exceeding 14 kilovolts per millimeter).
