Lang Papier Installs High Pressure Cleaners on PM 4 Wire Section
Gebr. Lang Papier GmbH, Ettringen, Germany, has ordered two more DuoCleaners for the wire section of its PM 4. The high-pressure technology used is these units maintains the performance characteristics of wires and felts at a constantly high level. The order represents the 200th DuoCleaner sold by Voith Sulzer Technology since it was launched on the global paper industry market three years ago.
The DuoCleaner was initially developed for the dryer section. It is used both in the pre- and after-dryer section, especially in difficult applications such as systems using wastepaper and recycling coated broke. A roto-traversing Unijet or Duojet cleaner (water pressure up to 350 bars), each adjustable according to basis weight, as well as a dirt exhaust unit, guarantees cleanliness on the wire and in the wire meshes.

A key advantage of the unit is the constantly high air permeability of the dryer fabric and, thus, the unlimited drying rate and positive influence of the CD moisture profile. Through less dirt on the wire, rolls and doctors, production quality is improved and there are less shutdowns for cleaning purposes.
In the wire and press section, the DuoCleaner is equipped with a rotating, continuously traversing multijet cleaning head. Through uniform and intensive conditioning of the wires, holes in the paper and surface damage are reduced by minimum deposits on the wire and in the wire meshes. The wire service life can be extended, and misting and resulting breaks decrease significantly.
Felt service life is extended due to intensive but gentle conditioning. The cleanliness achieved in this way ensures a more open felt surface, through which a constantly high water absorption and a uniform CD moisture profile is made possible.
