West Coast Box Plant Orders VSEP Filtration Technology from New Logic International

A major supplier of corrugated boxes based on the West Coast has ordered a VSEP filtration system to treat their plant's effluent stream. The "Vibratory Shear Enhanced Processing" (VSEP) system developed by New Logic Research, Inc. will significantly reduce BOD, COD, TDS, TSS, metals and color from the plant's discharge to the effluent stream in one process step. Using nanofiltration membrane modules to treat the effluent stream, clean permeate water can either be reused in the process or discharged, while the VSEP system pre-concentrates solids such as starch, ink and dissolved materials prior to final evaporation or drying.

The New Logic VSEP system will eliminate the need for multistep conventional treatment processes. Treating box or bag plant effluent system with VSEP technology offers very attractive justifications including:

  • Reduction of surcharges from BOD, COD, TSS, TDS, metals and color from the effluent streams.
  • Reduction of surcharges from effluent discharge volume and associated treatment cost.
  • Availability of high quality water to be reintroduced into the process.
  • Reduction in fresh water demands and pretreatment costs.
  • Retain heat in the recycled water loops for possible energy savings.
  • Eliminate biological growth, and odor from effluent.
  • Simplify effluent treatment with a single step, compact, low energy system.

VSEP filtration systems have been applied to many industrial effluent treatment systems, please contact us for more information on VSEP technology and its potential application to your process.
