The Clyde Bergemann model RKS Long Retractable sootblower is designed specifically for the needs of Power and Utility boilers. The RKS is based on the Bergemann Germany Utility sootblower with a long history of proven dependable service. The model RKS sootblower design eliminates two common problems found in other dual rack-&-pinion sootblowers: rack wear and oil or grease leakage. The traveling carriage is a modular design separating the gearbox from the lower housing, keeping the precision gearing away from the steam-generated heat. The carriage also features the balance design allowing for a 50/50-power split between the two drive rack sets. The overall design is rugged and maintenance friendly allowing improved access to all components such as poppet valve operating mechanism, carriage assembly, limit switches and wallbox. The model RKS features to exclusive e-chain power cable feed mechanism for improved electrical drive reliability.
