Neoteric Boilout Programs

Buckman's customers have asked if a successful boilout can be run without the use of caustic or acid. The answer is YES! Buckman's Neoteric products are neutral boilout additives that can be used alone or in combination for boiling paper machine systems. These enzyme-based products accelerate the removal of organic deposits without the addition of caustic or acid. These products will deliver excellent cleaning results while providing an alternative to traditional alkaline or acid boilout programs. Neoteric boilout products are most effective when used in a pH range of 5-8. The optimal boilout temperature range is 125º-160ºF. Some advantages of running a Neoteric Boilout Program versus traditional boilouts with caustic or acid are: the risk associated with caustic or acid burns is eliminated since this program does not use caustic or acid; because the boilout will not have an elevated pH, there will be no need to neutralize the boilout solution with acid before disposing it to the effluent waste treatment; and finally, the removal of risk associated with caustic or acid allows for maintenance to be performed around the machine or system during the boilout.
