PC-4000 PneumaticCore Chuck
The PC-4000 Pneumatic/Mechanical Core Chuck is designed to deliver constant gripping force to any core material regardless of torque magnitude or direction. It operates with a minimum of operator intervention, and is typically designed for constant air supply to enhance grip reliability. This chuck offers maximum versatility in web tension control for modern unwind or rewind systems that feature surface drive, regenerative brakes, or turret systems that drive and then brake the roll.
The PC-4000 incorporates most of its basic features from our proven PM-1000 Pneumatic/Mechanical Lug Shaft design. This design has been proven in the demanding high-speed printing industry for over twenty years. The PC-4000's compact, proprietary design has been dramatically reinforced with heat-treated sliding parts to ensure positive lug retraction and easy maintenance. The chuck is custom-manufactured, and assembled according to strict quality standards. The PC-4000 carries a comprehensive one-year warranty.
ADAPTABILITY
This field-proven design has further versatility due to optional features which include adapters for multiple core sizes. These light-weight adapters use a unique "Safety-Snap" locking mechanism to positively lock the adapter in place while allowing quick changeover to other sizes. No tools are necessary to make the change. The PC-4000, with these optional core adapters, represents the industry's best value for applications that demand multiple core sizes.
The three-inch base chuck is supplied in an air-up design while the six-inch and larger models are available in either an air-up or air-down design. Air-down chucks use air pressure to retract the gripping lugs for removal from the core.
Double E can retrofit the PC-4000 onto virtually any machine or mounting configuration.
