Acid produced by treating phosphate rocks with a strong mineral acid. - Thermal-Process Phosphoric Acid (TPPA):
Acid produced by burning elemental phosphorus followed by hydration. - Purified Wet-Process Phosphoric Acid: (PWPA):
Acid produced by upgrading wet-process acid through solvent extraction.
Based on purity, there are more than five grades of phosphoric acid available on the market today:
- Food Grade
- Technical Grade
- Industrial Grade (Purified Green Acid)
- Feed Grade
- Fertilizer Grade
