Precision Thermocouple Data Logger

A new version of the Spectrum 1700 series thermocouple data loggers povides increased temperature measurement accuracy
Veriteq Instruments, Inc.on of the Spectrum 1700 series thermocouple data loggers povides increased temperature measurement accuracy and resolution. The SP-1700-N series narrow range data loggers feature a 4-mv input resolution that can monitor temperature environments from –220oC to 240oC, with a measurement precision of 0.2oC. The new loggers are available in three models—the SP-1700-20N that allows a single thermocouple input, the SP-1700-30N that allows two thermocouple probe connections, and the SP-1700-50N that allows four thermocouple inputs.

The SP-1700-N models have an input signal range of -7.2 to 8.8 mv that is compatible with the most popular thermocouple types. This range contrasts with the standard Veriteq SP-1700 models (W-series) that cover a broader range from –4.6 to 55.4 mv. These data loggers are miniature stand-alone devices developed for in-field recording of type J, K, S, T, E, and R thermocouple temperature probes. The units feature an integral 10-yr battery and non-volatile memory and can be used to replace chart recorders and hard-wired data acquisition systems. Palm-sized, the data loggers can be positioned to record data in locations not possible with conventional recording systems such as in small process control panels or inside other instrumentation systems.

Designed for long-term operation in harsh industrial and field applications, the data loggers are equipped with automatic cold junction temperature compensation that allows them to be placed in environments ranging from –40o to 85oC. The units feature a high degree of immunity from electrical interference and physical shock and vibration allowing them to be mounted on or near large electrically-powered equipment or systems. The non-volatile EEPROM memory ensures long-term data protection in the event of damage to the unit.
