Pregis Announces New GeoSpeed Quantum XF Paper Void-Fill System; Machine Targets Higher Volume Users With Automated Functions

Deerfield, IL - Pregis Corp. is adding a new model to its popular GeoSpeed Quantum compact, paper void-fill line. The new GeoSpeed Quantum XF offers power tear assist, feed-to-length and optional multistack accessories.

The GeoSpeed Quantum system, which delivers crumpled paper from rollstock at speeds of up to 150 inches per second, continues to establish new performance standards for this category.

“The GeoSpeed Quantum XF builds on the success of our previously launched GeoSpeed Quantum by offering higher volume users a way to automate some of the functions to achieve even higher pack efficiency,” said Tom Wetsch, vice president, new product development, Pregis. “We’ve also made the enhancements simple-to-use.”

The new model features the most advanced cutting solution on the market. The power tear assist option uses a bladeless mechanism which is designed to keep the operator safe and keep productivity at its peak, particularly for high volume packaging operations.

It is also designed to take the guess work out of the paper packing process. The "feedto-length" feature allows the operator to set the machine to dispense paper of varying lengths. This option enables better raw material consumption and inventory management. It also simplifies employee training on the proper amount of paper needed to package items of varying shapes and sizes.

The Quantum XF is also available with multistack accessories that allow the machine to pull from multiple rolls of paper, reducing the number of roll changes and maximizing labor efficiencies.

The GeoSpeed Quantum system has been designed to eliminate paper jams. It also has a unique patented floating-head design which enables the fastest roll loading of any paper machine on the market.  Paper rolls can be loaded in seconds.

Billed as the most user-friendly paper system on the market, both GeoSpeed Quantum units provide another alternative for companies seeking a strong environmentally-responsible profile.  Its versatile construction accommodates a variety of production line requirements including floor stand, table mounting or custom
installations.

Pregis offers three paper alternatives—a  30-pound GeoSpeed Renew 100% recycled paper option, a 30 pound natural kraft grade which is made from a percentage of recycled content and a heavy-duty 45-pound kraft option for more demanding packs.  “We’ve engineered the GeoSpeed Quantum line with the operator in mind. Both units are lightweight and portable, yet durable enough to withstand the rigors of a warehouse environment. Once the machine is in position, the operator can make adjustments to suit his or her specific needs.  This includes machine height, paper dispensing angles and roll repositioning to help reduce the overall footprint,” said Wetsch.

Crumpled paper is ideally suited as small space void-fill, block/brace and light cushioning for a wide variety of products—especially items that are loose/unboxed or have sharp edges. Typical product/markets for paper dunnage are: mail order fulfillment, electronic components, automotive parts, housewares, lighting fixtures, industrial parts, medical/dental supplies, cosmetics, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, lawn and garden products and more.
