Albany International Corp. - Industrial Process Technologies porous polymeric press fabric from Albany International Corp., offers the papermaker fast startup, reduced break frequency, and improved sheet smoothness and dryness. With its apertured construction, this fabric remains constant under compression for millions of cycles, bringing true steady-state pressing (consistent dewatering over life) closer to reality. The porous polymeric component of this fabric is responsible for a number of superior performance attributes when compared with press fabrics having only conventional textile base constructions.
AperTech contains up to 50% non-textile polymeric materials by weight with the apertured structure that provides a level of compression recovery unavailable in textile base fabrics. In addition, the construction allows precision design of the water removal paths under compression to predict and quantify flow resistance.
