Rockwood International System Supply, Inc. was awarded an order in April, 2000 by Willamette Industries, Inc. for the design and supply of one Stacker / Reclaimer Type: RISS-505-440-5.0.

Rockwood International has now completed this project and as of June 1, 2001 successfully commissioned the largest Stacker/ Reclaimer in the world for the Pulp and Paper Industry. It has a diameter of 440 ft and a storage capacity of 5 million ft3 or 62,500 tons.

The Rockwood International Stacker/ Reclaimer provides automated chip storage and reclaim to the Kingsport, TN mill and was a pre requisite to the planned 450 Million USD mill upgrade.

Tremendous annual cost savings will be achieved, quick ROI, through elimination of the existing high maintenance and energy consumption equipment. Even greater savings will be achieved through the recovery of good fiber. This will be achieved through significant reductions in pin chip creation and improved pile turnover reducing chip degradation.
