This product is a low-cost inkjet system that can print maximum resolution messages
In 1997 the Eagle Series was introduced. This product is a low-cost inkjet system that can print maximum resolution messages on porous or non-porous substrates. It is an exciting replacement for high-cost CIJ systems, so-called "hi-res" systems, valve-jet systems that give poor print, and Seimens - based small character systems. It is cost competitive with all of these systems, but offers the best print quality in the industry. The Eagle Series serves a very broad cross-section of the market from carton coding to non-porous item marking with text, graphics, and bar coding.

The printhead uses either the 128-jet version or the 64-jet version of the Xaar PiezoJet. Each printhead will print either porous or non-porous ink over a swath that is up to 0.7 inches high and which can be filled with from one to eight lines of text, bar codes, graphics and variable data. Each printhead can print 200 dpi horizontal resolution at speeds up to 200 feet per minute and the system is expandable from one printhead to up to 4 printheads from one controller. Each printhead has a no-slant vertical resolution of 185 dpi. The heads can be slanted to achieve up to 360 dpi vertical resolution. We have named our truly high resolution printing technology MAXres. As printheads are added, upgrades of memory and processor power may be required, depending upon speed and the application. Images can be stitched over more than one head to give images as tall as 2.8 inches from one controller.
