Simpson Names New VP and GM of Tacoma Kraft Mill

Don Johnson, operations manager of Simpson Tacoma Kraft Co. since February 1993, has been named the company's VP and GM. In his new position, Johnson will take on additional sales and marketing responsibilities. He has worked at Simpson's Tacoma mill since March 1971,where he began his career as a technical assistant.

"As a result of Don's leadership in successfully implementing the mill's recycle project, Simpson has one of the most competitive pulp and paper mills in the industry that has raised the bar for environmental excellence and corporate citizenship. Don has the experience and market savvy to lead Simpson's packaging business into the future."

Simpson Tacoma Kraft is a 1,200-ton/day pulp and paper mill in Tacoma, WA, manufacturing bleached and natural kraft linerboard, shipping sack, specialty kraft papers, and market pulp. It is a subsidiary of Simpson Paper Co., which is a subsidiary of the Seattle-based Simpson Investment Co.
