The Uniform Slit Separation System has two conventional Fixed Bow Spreader Rolls mounted on a rotating table
J.J. Plank Corporation / Spencer Johnston Company Slit Separation System has two conventional Fixed Bow Spreader Rolls mounted on a rotating table. The unit is used as an after slitter system to separate the slits. Depending on which way the table is rotated, the amount of surface contact of the web to the rolls is either increased or decreased.
Since the spreading effect increases as the amount of wrap increases, the spacing between the slits can be infinitely adjusted to the desired width. This gives the operator an easy on-the-run adjustment of the slit spacing to correct for different grades, slitter table set-ups, and other variables. And, since these are conventional spreader rolls, the bows of these rolls can still be individually rotated.
