Hands on Process Control
Cast iron and mild steel paper machine components have long been prone to corrosion caused by harsh operating conditions. The constant exposure to hot, wet environment, combined with chemicals such as sulfides from kraft finishes or chlorides from the bleaching process, and a pH, which is usually high, combine to attach to all parts of the paper machine. In the last ten years, these problems have gotten worse, as more and more mills close their whitewater systems, effectively concentrating chemicals in the whitewater.
Guides have always been ruggedly built, with epoxy painted cast iron construction and stainless steel inner components. Now the best guide in the industry is also the first to be available in 100% Stainless Steel.
Durable Design
Fast, gentle response assures long wire or felt life. Anti-friction,
needle type bearings are completely enclosed in
specially formulated rubber diaphragms that protect against
water, dust, heat, stock and other contaminants. 100%
Stainless Steel Construction or two part epoxy-painted Cast
Iron Construction with stainless steel hardware for long life.
Easy to Operate
The Sandy Hill Guide is easy to install, simple to operate and
requires minimum maintenance. Bearing arrangement
ensures precise linear movement and response to very small
changes from the controller. Additionally, the Sandy Hill
Guide can be connected directly to the mills air supply.
