The Polytron System "won't break...won't swell...won't wear out the shell." The system includes Polytron K-2 Suction Roll Seal Strips with patented Teflon lubricator bars machined into the wear surface; Polytron K-2 end deckles, engineered to exacting tolerances; and superior Polytube Airload Tubes. The Teflon Lubricator Bars serve in three ways:

• Facilitate rapid break-in of the new strip - small lip of Teflon left above the upper surface conforms to the irregularities of the inner surface of the shell
  
• Non-abrasive - use of Teflon and graphite results in a very low coefficient of friction
  
• Provide a wear gauge - bars are always machined to a depth of 0.375 inches, so that condition of the strip can be accurately measured when roll is broken down for maintenance.
