This roll is designed to control floppy and baggy edges
J.J. Plank Corporation / Spencer Johnston Companys designed to control floppy and baggy edges. It maintains the integrity of a fixed bow spreader roll and has the additional feature of adjustable end sections that are calibrated. These sections are independently adjustable forward and backward as well as rotatable.
A problem that is occurring on one edge of the sheet can be corrected without causing a problem elsewhere on the sheet. Since the correction can be made on the run, the operator can see the result of the correction immediately without any lost time.
The roll surface is comprised of individual abrasion resistance segments, which have a wave worn surface from the center of the roll outward toward the edges to help maintain the spreading effect. Optional radial grooving and hard chrome surface are available.
