Johnson Turbulator Bars are designed to optimize heat transfer and cross-machine temperature profile in rotating cylinders
Johnson Turbulator Bars are designed to optimize heat transfer and cross-machine temperature profile in rotating cylinders. At speeds above 1800 fpm (600 mpm), condensate inside the cylinder is a significant barrier to heat transfer. This reduces dryer efficiency and increases temperature deviation across the dryer shell. Turbulator bars are used to re-introduce turbulence into the rimming condensate.
To validate your decision to purchase and install Turbulator bars in your machine, Johnson offers a full-size drying cylinder to simulate the operating conditions of your mill environment. With this facility, Johnson can tell you how much improvement Turbulator bars will produce in your application – before the bars are installed in your machine. Best of all, the services of the Johnson Research Center are available to all interested parties.
