After forming a slurry, the stock goes thru a series of screens and centrifugal cleaners to help remove these contaminants. Also, flotation cells and washers are used to remove ink and clay particles. Flotation cells use air to remove ink by attaching these ink particles to air bubbles, which float to the top of the cell and are removed. Washers use high speed centrifugal forces to remove small ink and clay particles in the pulp. In addition, kneaders are used to separate the ink from the fibers and reduce its particle size.
KBC is capable of supplying complete systems in variety of designs for the specific needs of our customers, depending on the initial furnish characteristics, and quality required of the final pulp. System yield, water usage, power consumption and other factors are taken into account when designing these systems.
KBC has years of experience supplying deinking and white fiber recycling systems. We have a complete line of equipment for your deinking needs. Pilot units are available for field trials or system simulations at our pilot plant in Middletown, OH.
